About Our Doctor

Dr. Franklin is a native of Elizabethtown Kentucky and graduated from the University of Louisville with honors in psychology.

He attended University of Louisville school of dentistry where he was elected senior class president and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor Society and also the oral medicine and oral pathology and honorary dental society.

Dr. Franklin then did his residency in periodontics at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

He is a past president of the Kentucky Society Periodontology and is a member of the Louisville Dental Society and the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Southern Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Franklin opened the first periodontal practice in the area over 25 years ago and draws patients from a wide geographic area including numerous surrounding states.

In 2010 he became the first periodontist in this area, including Louisville, to be certified in advanced laser technology and the LANAP laser system.

He is now recognized as one of the top LANAP laser practitioners in the nation. Dr. Franklin has been selected as a Top Dentist in Kentucky by the International Association of Dentists. He is spotlighted in the renowned publication, The Leading Physicians of the World.

Robert and wife Lisa enjoy spending time with their family and his interests include outdoor activities, photography, wildlife, birding, hiking,and traveling.

Dr. Franklin is an accomplished musician with a varied musical taste and his appreciation extends into jazz classical and country music.
